Sergei Firer was born in Russia in 1954. He learned a variety of techniques throughout his childhood from his father, who was also an artist.

Sergei fascination with art continued as he later graduated from the Art College of Gorky, and very quickly started showing his works in numerous galleries.

In 1990 Sergei left Russia, and started teaching etching at the Bezalel Art Academy in Jerusalem. Since 1994 he has worked from his studio in Toronto, Canada and continues to have his work exhibited in galleries worldwide. His works have been included in museum collections in both his native Russia and Israel.
