Sher Chen

Sher Chen was born in 1942, Shanghai, China. He was member the faculty group of Suzhou Art & Design Technology Institute in Suzhou, China from the early 1960s to 2002.   Since then, Sher has served as Senior Artist in Jiangsu Academy of Printmaking in Nanjing China.

As a printmaker, Mr. Chen is an important contributor to the revival and growing popularity of one Chinese traditional Tao Hua Wu woodcut print process.

Since Mr. Chen’s first exhibition as a representative of Chinese contemporary art in Germany, 1964, he has been honored with more than 70 exhibitions around world. His works are included in major public and private collections including The British Museum, Orchard Point Art Gallery in Singapore, National Art Museum of China, the Guangdong Art Museum and Jiangsu Art Museum in China.
