Carol Wax

Honored with the 1994 Louise Nevelson Award by the American Academy of Arts and Letters, Wax was recognized as an innovator of the mezzotint. Her book, The Mezzotint: History and Technique, published by Abrams in 1990, has become the definitive work on this difficult medium. She continues to explore and reshape the process, developing new tools and lecturing at art schools nationwide.

Her prints are in the permanent collections of the National Museum of American Art / Smithsonian Institution, the Metropolitan Museum in New York, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the New Orleans Museum of Art, Museo Instituto Artes Graficas in Mexico and many other museum and corporate collections.
