Dave Lefner was born in Los Angeles, CA in 1969, and graduated from California State University, Northridge in 1993.
As a native-born Angeleno, artist Dave Lefner has always had a love for the city around him. He is best known for his images of the aging neon signs, storefronts, and architecture of Los Angeles, ranging from the Valley to Hollywood, to his current home of Downtown L.A.
Since earning his degree in Art from the California State University at Northridge, he has focused on documenting the history of LA through its urban landscape. Even in his chosen medium of reduction linocuts, he hopes to further his goal of preservation.
Lefner works in very small editions, often with only 5 or 6 prints, and rarely more than 10.
