The abandoned cannery at one end of the beach at Punta Lobos dates from the period 1960-80. Over-exploitation led to a collapse in the green turtle population, but it is now used by conservation group for releasing turtles to repopulate the area. The lower part of the image shows turtles now laying eggs there again.
