enómeno Astronómico Capitalino presents a fantastical nighttime view of Mexico City. A skeletal figure streaks across the star-filled sky like a comet, passing above the densely rendered cityscape and an observatory crowned by the Mexican flag. Gonzalez combines imagery of death, science, and urban life with the bold contrasts and crisp carved lines of linocut.
