This print represents a pottery maker from Toluca, aligning with the portfolio's theme of presenting Mexican individuals and their traditional crafts and occupations. Ocampo (1910-1983) was one of the founding members of the Taller de Gráfica Popular and focused on documenting traditional Mexican crafts and artisanal labor.

Isidoro Ocampo (1910-1983) was born in Veracruz and was active during the Mexican Muralism era, though he is primarily known for his graphic work. Much of his career was dedicated to teaching, but he was also a founding member of the Taller de Gráfica Popular (TGP) and the Sociedad Mexicana de Grabadores. He was also involved with the Liga de Escritores y Artistas Revolucionarios and the Salón de la Plástica Mexicana. Ocampo's involvement in social causes and collective artistic production positioned him within Mexico's politically engaged art community.

As a printmaker, Ocampo exhibited versatility in addressing both historical and contemporary political themes. His work included politically themed posters and commemorative portraits of Mexican revolutionary figures such as Francisco I. Madero.
