Nahum Zenil’s Otro Sueño (“Another Dream”) merges autobiography, myth, and desire. Across the top register, a frieze of galloping horses charges forward, ridden by a nude figure and a winged companion—symbols of transcendence and longing. Below, in stark contrast, a barren landscape rises into a phallic form, an unmistakable reference to the erection of the dreamer, grounding the work in the intimate realities of the body.

Zenil is celebrated for blending self-portraiture, sexuality, and cultural archetypes into dreamlike imagery that is at once deeply personal and universal. Otro Sueño exemplifies this approach, balancing vitality and silence, dream and awakening, spirit and flesh.
