This Mata Ortiz pottery vessel by Juan Quezada Celado features a balanced, gently rounded form with a softly flared rim. The surface is stone-burnished and decorated in Quezada’s distinctive polychrome Casas Grandes style, combining black, cream, and red mineral pigments.

The design showcases his precise line work: interlocking geometric motifs, stepped patterns, fine cross-hatching, and sweeping curvilinear elements arranged in an elegant, rhythmic composition encircling the vessel.. The open-pit firing produces a smooth, even finish and a rich tonal depth to the clay.
