Juan Fuentes’ print War and Empire (2008), is a searing indictment of U.S. militarism and its devastating human toll. A terrified mother, father, and child are caught in the shadow of black helicopters raining destruction from above. It was commissioned by the Meridian Gallery in San Francisco for the Art of Democracy exhibition.
