Vincent Valdez’s Christmas in LA places a monumental portrait of a pit bull against a pink-and-blue twilight sky. Palm trees, utility wires, neighborhood rooftops, and Christmas decorations establish the Los Angeles setting. The dog’s watchful expression gives the scene a quietly commanding presence, while the small holiday figures add an unexpected touch of humor.
