A richly colored etching with chine collé by Japanese-American printmaker Yuji Hiratsuka. Combining elements of Japanese decorative art, contemporary portraiture, and Art Nouveau design, Hiratsuka creates an enigmatic image that is both elegant and gently surreal.

A young woman with dark purple hair holds an unusual flower whose dense cluster of orange-red blossoms completely obscures her face. A delicate pink flower adorns her ear, while her patterned clothing and graceful hands echo the botanical imagery surrounding her. The figure is framed by an ornamental arch, with a textured blue background and stylized flowers and foliage.
