Grappa Rose (2024) is a richly colored etching by Japanese-American printmaker Yuji Hiratsuka, whose distinctive imagery combines Japanese aesthetics, contemporary fashion, humor, and a playful sense of the surreal.

A young woman with dark hair pulled into a long ponytail leans toward an oversized crimson rose, her eyes closed and lips slightly parted as though savoring its fragrance. Her elongated profile, delicately rendered hands, and vivid red lips create a graceful, almost theatrical pose. Stylized green leaves spread across her shoulders, while a patterned garment and colorful accessories add decorative complexity to the composition.
