Juanishi Orosco

Juanishi Orosco was one of the founding members of The Rebel Chicano Art Front (RCAF) in 1969. the artists in this group set out to express the goals of the Chicano civil rights and labor movement, specifically to foster support for Cesar Chavez and the United Farm Workers. The name of the group soon morphed into the Royal Chicano Air Force, and the air force motif became a part of the groups persona.

Besides murals and individual works of art, the group started the Barrio Art Program, Anciano Art Project and helped to found the La Raza Bookstore which still operates in Sacramento as La Raza Galeria Posada.
